Key Responsibilities:

• J2EE applications on the Unix platform
• Design, develop and test functionality for new applications on the J2EE platform
• Provide support and maintenance of the Website and J2EE applications on the Unix platform
• Modifying and troubleshooting applications programs
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers
• Provide support to the platform architect in developing and refining the systems architecture
• Share knowledge of the website J2EE environment to raise the overall level of knowledge across the organisation

Key requirements:

• Thorough understanding in the application of Object-Oriented Design methodologies
• Understanding of UML
• Experienced in Web application development
• Experienced developing in an Eclipse environment or equivalent
• Experienced with JBOSS and the Sun Java System Application Server
• Java, HTML & XML programming language experience (Mandatory)
• Experienced in the use of J2EE technology (Mandatory)
• Detailed understanding of Netscape & Microsoft browser configurations & protocols
• Experience with HTTP, HTTP/S, TCP/IP, & SSL networking protocols
• Experienced in developing using relational databases
• Solid planning and organisational /time management skills
• Good communication skills (written and oral)
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
